Kristen Jaeger is a major collector whose holdings include works by Alex Katz, Analia Saban, Andy Warhol, Brian Calvin, Calida Rawles, Catherine Opie, Christine Sun Kim, Ewa Juszkiewicz, Ed Ruscha, Gabriella Sanchez, Genevieve Gaignard, Harold Ancart, Hayv Kahraman, Hugo McCloud, Isaac Julien, Judy Chicago, Julia Jo, Kathleen Ryan, Kelly Akashi, Pat White, Ramiro Gomez, Ross Bleckner, Sayre Gomez, Sharif Farrag, Tina Girouard, William Powhida, and Woody De Othello, among others. I first met Kristen during my time at Pace and have directly placed several significant works into her collection.
She is deeply engaged with institutions — having donated and loaned works to LACMA, the National Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.), the National Gallery of Canada, and ICA Miami. Kristen is close with Michael Govan and LACMA’s curatorial team, and has supported the museum through roles on the Director’s Circle, Contemporary, Future Arts Council, and Emerging Acquisition Boards. She’s a longtime supporter of the Art+Film Gala and the Collector’s Committee Benefit and has also made major contributions to the museum’s new building initiative.
In addition, she supports the Hammer Museum, serving on the Host Committee for its annual KAMP fundraiser. Kristen is based full-time in Utah with her husband, who works in real estate, though originally born in LA. She is a passionate philanthropist working with nonprofits focused on ending poverty and homelessness, particularly those supporting women and the arts. Her family founded Inner-City Arts in 1989, which has served more than 200,000 children on the West Coast.
